William and Chandra Vandry formed the non profit and registered 501c Vandry Hope foundation.  The Vandry Hope Foundation’s purpose is to develop programs promoting nutrition, physical education, and support for low-income families of Central Texas, and Central Texans suffering from traumatic brain injury, chronic pain, and legal blindness.  Research and awareness into nutrition and diseases; projects supporting the the blind and chronic pain victims are lectured at their Got pain? clinics.  Objectives are:

  1. Altruism and Philanthropy
  2. Support to Veterans and Blind Veterans
  3. Fitness programs for the legally blind
  4. Community support and career advice for the legally blind and general low income
  5. Got pain? clinics lecturing research on nutrition for general public, legally blind, TBI victims or Chronic pain
William Vandry has worked with the legally blind since 1998.  In 1999 Vandry was invited to teach and expose blind students to self defense, overcoming co-dependency, and to develop self sustaining careers.  Counselor from Criss Cole vocational school of the blind Jody Royder formed weekly classes and later brought blind students to Vandry’s Jiu-jitsu academy.  William and Chandra have taught their annual Vandry fitness project at the Texas School of the blind since 2012.  The program is the most popular among blind children at the annual Texas School of the Blind camp.  Vandry Hope volunteers are Mike Davis, Justin Toler, Jay Gordon, Will Jackson, Markus Lagmansson, Jim Nagle, Karen and Susan Manthel.
